A Letter from the Founder

Years ago, I sat in a classroom in Wales, reflecting on what it means to be given an opportunity that so many of those I left behind never had. The Chevening Award was not simply an academic opportunity — it was an invitation to responsibility.

I carried those experiences forward with a deep sense of responsibility—to support young people, strengthen communities, and turn learning into meaningful opportunities for others.

From that question, Chevening Youth Hub was born. Not as an organisation, but as a commitment. A commitment that every young person in a conflict-affected context deserves the guidance, knowledge, and community that believes in their potential.

I have seen with my own eyes how a single conversation, a single piece of guidance, a single opportunity can change the course of a person's life. I have seen young people from Yemen, Syria, Palestine, Lebanon, Iraq, Libya, and Sudan transform from those seeking opportunity into leaders creating opportunities for others.

That is the impact we pursue. Not numbers alone — but the stories behind the numbers. Not achievements alone — but the person who grew and evolved.

We believe that education and leadership are not privileges reserved for those born into favourable circumstances. They are rights for every young person, regardless of where they were born or the conditions they live in.
